The Craft

Made the Way
It Used to Be Made

Leatherwork is one of the oldest crafts there is. The tools haven't changed much because they don't need to — a sharp swivel knife, a good set of stamps, and a mallet still do the job better than anything else.

Every Two Hawks piece is cut, tooled, stitched, and finished by hand. No shortcuts. No assembly line. Just the work.

Leather Care & Repair

A Piece Built to Last
Should Be Treated That Way

Good leather doesn’t wear out - it wears in. A little attention can go a long way.

Feed the Leather

Leather can dry out over time - especially in heat or low humidity. A thin coat of balm every few months keeps the fibers supple, prevents cracking, and deepens the patina naturally. We make our own in the shop: organic castor oil, beeswax, and tallow. Simple formula. Works better than anything from a big box store.

Bring It In

Stitching comes loose. Hardware scuffs. Edges get scraped. That's not a reason to replace a piece, it's a reason to repair it. We take in repairs on Two Hawks work and on leather goods made elsewhere. Broken stitching re-sewn, hardware swapped, edges cleaned and burnished, and leather conditioned back to life.
